Who are we?
The Judgment and Decision-Making Lab, led by Dr. Sleboda, studies how people make choices about health and the environment. Our research integrates insights from decision psychology and behavioral science to understand the social, cognitive, and emotional factors that shape behavior. By examining individual differences in cognitive processing, risk perception, and prior experiences, the lab seeks to inform effective interventions that promote sustainable and healthy decision-making.
The lab is home to a diverse group of master’s and PhD students, undergraduates, and visiting scholars from Europe. Members collaborate on laboratory experiments, field studies, and randomized trials, gaining hands-on experience and mentorship in advanced research methods.
Our work translates scientific insights into actionable strategies that promote sustainable behaviors, healthier lifestyles, and evidence-based policy, while preparing the next generation of researchers to make a real-world impact.
